How to Live to 100 Years with the Centenarian Mind, Body and Spirit with Dr. Guillermo Rodríguez Navarrete (Nutrillermo)
At the Ultimate Wellness™ Conference 2026, we had the pleasure of welcoming Dr. Guillermo Rodríguez Navarrete, PhD in Human Nutrition, globally known as Nutrillermo, a respected nutrition expert known for his science-driven approach to health optimization and longevity.
Through his educational work, Nutrillermo brings together nutritional science, practical strategies, and ancestral wisdom to help people make informed choices that support long-term health and vitality.
In his keynote, "How to Live to 100 Years with the Centenarian Mind, Body and Spirit," he explored longevity through a holistic perspective, emphasizing that living longer is not simply about extending lifespan, but also about nurturing the body, mind, and spirit to enjoy a healthier and more fulfilling life.

Longevity Starts with the Choices We Make Today
Nutrillermo opened his presentation with a thought-provoking comparison to the Titanic. Just as people once believed the ship was unsinkable, we can sometimes assume that being healthy today guarantees many more years of life. His message was simple: meaningful changes should not be postponed until tomorrow.
He encouraged attendees to think about longevity proactively and consider what they can do today to support their future health.
Drawing on his experience working with elite athletes and his observations of people who have lived beyond 100, he highlighted the value of learning from centenarians themselves. Rather than focusing exclusively on sophisticated biohacking methods, he suggested paying attention to the everyday habits and lifestyles that have accompanied many people throughout their long lives.
Nutrition, Sugar Consumption and Metabolic Health
One of the central themes of Nutrillermo's keynote was the relationship between nutrition, blood sugar regulation, and long-term health.
He emphasized the importance of reducing excessive sugar consumption and becoming more conscious of how much sugar we consume, when we consume it, and how different foods affect blood glucose levels.
He also shared an example of a 22-day no-sugar challenge involving entrepreneur Peter Diamandis, describing the changes in appetite, weight, and medication use that were reported following the experience.
Discussing breakfast and energy levels, Nutrillermo introduced the idea of prioritizing protein and fats rather than starting the day with carbohydrate-heavy foods. He explained how this approach, in his view, can help support more stable energy and reduce cravings throughout the morning.
He also discussed the role of collagen and MCT oil in a breakfast formulation developed for patients, as well as the importance of meal composition and timing.
Rethinking Traditional Views on Dietary Fats and Food Choices
Another topic explored during the presentation was the relationship between dietary fats, carbohydrates, and metabolic health.
Nutrillermo challenged some conventional assumptions about dietary fats, encouraging attendees to look beyond individual nutrients and consider the overall composition of their diets.
He discussed saturated fats, animal-based foods, and red meat, referring to examples of populations with high meat consumption and relatively high life expectancy. His intention was to encourage a broader discussion about nutrition and to question whether simplified dietary recommendations always reflect the complexity of human health.
He also emphasized the importance of nutrient-dense foods and making conscious choices rather than following dietary trends without understanding their potential impact.
Four Lifestyle Foundations: Ketosis, Fasting, Sleep and Sunlight
One of the memorable elements of the keynote was Nutrillermo's proposed framework for longevity, bringing together four lifestyle factors:
1. Ketosis and reduced sugar intake
He discussed ketosis in the context of minimizing sugar consumption and changing the body's metabolic environment through dietary choices.
2. Fasting
Nutrillermo described fasting as an important metabolic tool when approached with understanding and appropriate control. He also discussed the potential value of being more conscious of meal frequency and timing.
3. Sleep
Sleep was presented as one of the essential foundations of health. He emphasized its role in recovery and the importance of establishing habits that support restorative sleep.
4. Sunlight and circadian rhythms
He highlighted sunlight as an often-underestimated influence on health, explaining the importance of light exposure in helping the body recognize the time of day and regulate its natural rhythms.
He encouraged attendees to develop a healthier relationship with natural light, pay attention to sunrise exposure, and consider the timing of meals and sleep in relation to the body's internal clock.
Beyond Nutrition: Light, Environment and Other Wellness Practices
Nutrillermo also expanded the conversation beyond food and nutrition, discussing several environmental and lifestyle factors that may contribute to overall well-being.
Among the topics he mentioned were red light therapy, air and water quality, electromagnetic fields, breathing practices, hormesis, cold therapy, sound therapy, physical strength, and meditation.
He placed particular emphasis on light exposure and circadian rhythms, discussing how light signals help regulate the body's internal timing.
He also introduced red light devices and blue-light-blocking glasses, highlighting their potential applications as part of a broader approach to wellness.
The Centenarian Mind and Spirit
Returning to the central theme of his keynote, Nutrillermo emphasized that longevity should not be measured by physical health alone.
He discussed the importance of mindset, thoughts, and consciousness, suggesting that our mental state and beliefs also deserve attention when considering long-term well-being.
He then turned to spirituality, sharing observations from his encounters with centenarians and highlighting the place of prayer, meditation, and belief in something greater in their lives.
For Nutrillermo, a centenarian body, mind, and spirit are interconnected. His message was that the pursuit of longevity should encompass not only the physical conditions that support life, but also the mental and spiritual dimensions that give life meaning.
A Holistic Perspective on Living Longer and Better
Nutrillermo's keynote invited attendees to reconsider longevity as a daily practice shaped by nutrition, lifestyle, environment, mindset, and spirituality.
His central message was a reminder that the choices we make today matter. Rather than waiting for the perfect moment or relying exclusively on advanced technologies, we can begin by becoming more conscious of our everyday habits and how they influence our well-being.
