The Future of Healing: Where Consciousness, Brain Health & Technology Meet
Updated: Oct 14
What does the future of healing look like?
At the Ultimate Wellness™ Conference 2026, a powerful panel brought together voices from neuroscience, consciousness, technology, and holistic wellness to explore a question that sits at the heart of modern wellness:
How can we integrate science, technology, ancient wisdom, and consciousness to support human potential?
🎙️ Moderated by Dr. Lauren Leiva, Queen of Biohacking, Doctor of Physical Therapy, and Founder of The ExerScience Center @queenofbiohacking
Speakers:
Lea Llovio @leallovio — Conscious Wellness Thought Leader & Mind–Body–Spirit Optimization Expert
Dr. Patrick Porter @drpatrickporter — Founder & Inventor of BrainTap @braintaptech , Brain Researcher, Mental Coach & Meditation Leader
Helena Reilly, M.A. @quantumsoundtherapy999 — Pioneer in Quantum Sound & Scalar Technologies
Shawn Bearden — CEO & Co-Founder of NewMind Technologies @newmindtech , advancing technology-driven mental health care

From Knowledge to Transformation
One of the central themes of the conversation was the difference between knowing something and actually applying it.
Conferences, books, supplements, technologies, therapies, and educational programs can give us an extraordinary amount of information. But information alone does not create transformation.
As the panel explored, meaningful change begins when awareness becomes action.
Sean Bearden described a framework of awareness, regulation, and transformation: first recognizing our patterns, then developing the ability to regulate our responses, and ultimately creating healthier patterns that can become sustainable.
This idea reflects a broader shift in wellness—from collecting more information to learning how to integrate what we already know into everyday life.
The Brain, Nervous System & Human Potential
Dr. Patrick Porter, founder of BrainTap, spoke about his decades of work exploring ways technology can support different states of consciousness and brain activity.
His perspective emphasized the interconnected nature of the human system and the potential for technologies such as neurofeedback and brainwave-based tools to complement meditation and other wellness practices.
The conversation also highlighted an important principle: technology does not necessarily have to replace traditional practices.
It can become another tool in the wellness toolkit.
Meditation, breathwork, movement, sound, neurofeedback, light, and other technologies can each have a place—when approached with awareness, intention, and appropriate understanding.
Bridging Science & Spirituality
Lea Lovio brought another important perspective to the conversation: the physical body itself can be viewed as an essential part of our spiritual and human experience.
Rather than creating a division between spirituality and technology, she encouraged the audience to remain open to both—the wisdom of consciousness and the possibilities offered by modern science and technology.
This is one of the most exciting opportunities in modern wellness.
We don't necessarily have to choose between ancient wisdom and modern innovation.
We can explore how they inform one another.
Your Nervous System Is Part of the Conversation
Helena Riley, co-founder of Quantum Sound Therapy, focused on the role of sound, resonance, and the environment in our experience.
Her message was a reminder that wellness isn't only about what we intentionally add to our lives. It is also about becoming aware of the environments, patterns, and signals we are continuously exposed to.
This led the panel into another important question:
What should we eliminate—not just what should we add?
Sometimes the most meaningful wellness practice isn't another supplement, device, or protocol.
It may be better sleep.
More presence.
Less mental noise.
A healthier environment.
Or simply creating enough space to hear ourselves again.
The Power of the Present Moment
Throughout the discussion, the panel returned repeatedly to the importance of moving beyond old patterns and becoming more conscious of how we respond to life.
Dr. Porter emphasized that intentions are not enough—we reinforce what we repeatedly practice.
This is where consciousness becomes practical.
We can observe our thoughts.
We can notice our emotional responses.
We can become aware of our nervous system.
And then we can begin to make different choices.
Healing is not simply about finding the perfect technology or protocol. It is also about developing the awareness to understand what we need, when we need it, and how to integrate it into our lives.
The Future Is Integrative
Perhaps the most important takeaway from this conversation is that the future of wellness doesn't have to belong to one discipline.
It can be integrative.
Science can help us understand the body and brain.
Technology can give us new tools.
Ancient wisdom can offer practices for cultivating awareness.
Consciousness can invite us to look beyond symptoms and performance toward meaning, connection, and purpose.
And ultimately, the human being remains at the center.
At Ultimate Wellness™, we believe true wellness is about the whole person—Spirit, Emotions, Mind, and Body.
The future of healing may not be about choosing between science and spirituality, technology and tradition, or mind and body.
