In his keynote, “Cellular Health, Longevity Science, and NAD Metabolism,” Baran explored the role of NAD+ and creatine in cellular energetics and their connections to brain health, gut function, inflammation, and the biology of aging.

NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) is a molecule involved in hundreds of enzymatic processes, including cellular energy production and DNA repair. Baran discussed how NAD+ levels change with age and why researchers are investigating ways to support cellular energy and better understand the mechanisms involved in healthy aging.

He also explained the complementary role of creatine, which helps support the rapid delivery and use of energy in cells. Together, NAD+ and creatine offer an interesting perspective on how cellular energy systems contribute to the body's many functions.

🧠 The Gut, Inflammation, and Healthy Aging

Another key theme was the relationship between gut health, inflammation, and cellular energy. Baran discussed how the gut barrier helps protect the body, why chronic inflammation is an important area of aging research, and how the body's energy demands are interconnected.

He also explored practical considerations related to nutrition, exercise, and supplementation, highlighting the importance of continued research into NAD+ precursors, including NMN and NR, as well as creatine.
